Lewis Builders' Commitment to Community Philanthropy

At Lewis Builders, our core values of innovation, accountability, and pursuing happiness drive our commitment to community stewardship and philanthropy. We believe in leveraging our expertise in construction and design to make a positive impact on those around us. Here’s a closer look at some of the projects that highlight our dedication to making a difference.

Lewis Family Farm

In June 2019, we introduced the Lewis Family Farm, a quarter-acre garden in Carmel Valley. This initiative not only provides fresh produce for our team but also serves as a sustainable team-building activity, reflecting our commitment to environmental stewardship and employee well-being.

A House for Joseph: Accessibility Renovation Project

In 2022, we finished the renovations of the home of Joseph Escalante,, a Salinas resident who suffered a life-altering accident. This project exemplifies our motto, “Change Your Space, Change Your Life,” and our commitment to improving lives through thoughtful design.

Our team’s expertise in Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) principles allows us to create homes that adapt to residents’ changing needs over time. We incorporate Universal Design concepts into our projects, ensuring that homes are accessible and functional for people of all ages and abilities. The success of this project was made possible through the generous contributions of our team, trade partners, and community members. From skilled labor to material donations, the outpouring of support demonstrates the power of community in effecting positive change.

Supporting Meals On Wheels Monterey County

Our founder, John Lewis, formerly served on the board of directors at Meals On Wheels. Meals On Wheels empowers seniors, disabled adults, and veterans to combat hunger and isolation in Monterey County.

In 2021, the Lewis Builders team eagerly took on the task of remodeling their Community Center bathrooms, providing modern, accessible facilities. Our gratitude goes out to our trade partners who contributed to this project.

Our efforts continued with an outdoor living spaces project, to accentuate its beautiful Pacific Grove location for their daily guests. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we assembled 350 supplemental bags with essential items for Meals On Wheels clients, reflecting our commitment to community support.
